These gorgeous tomatoes and eggplant were a must have at the Royal Oak Farmers Market near Detroit Michigan. They are long gone, but live on in this acrylic painting.

This is the Bethesda Fountain in New York City’s Central Park. The fountain and surrounding area is striking and it never fails to inspire me. It has been a few years since I visited Central Park but this August I finally got back – with my 79 year old mother, 33 year old daughter, and 17 year old niece in tow!

Time For the 30 in 30 Painting Challenge!

8/10/14

I am so excited that I have made the commitment to Leslie Saeta’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days world wide challenge, sponsored by the Artists Helping Artists Podcast.

The challenge is beginning in  September  and there is only one rule and that is to have fun (which I plan on doing)

I am in the process of choosing a theme and since the theme could literally be anything, it is difficult to choose. I will keep you updated and announce what theme I decide on using.  What I do know is that the paintings will be on gallery wrapped square canvases of  an assortment of sizes.

Inspiration

6/26/14

What makes someone creative? Simply put, their inspiration. Where do you derive inspiration? Where do I find mine, you may ask? Sometimes I ask myself the same thing… I am in awe of people that seemingly have weakness-blinders on – you know – they have their eyes locked on their strengths +  potential and they pay no mind to what could go wrong. I am not saying a little self-awareness isn’t a good thing – but sometimes our awareness fixates on what is wrong and where we are falling short – and our strategy then becomes trying to fix our shortcomings rather than letting our unique talents flourish. With that perspective sitting in the drivers seat – how can one ever truly be inspired and produce meaningful, creative work? My website + blog are dedicated to all those creative people out there that chose to play up their strengths in all that they do – cheers to those that live a life true to themselves!
